Vietnam is sorely incomplete without an excursion to the countryside. Particularly around Hanoi, the countryside offers a chance to see the quieter more traditional side of Vietnam. The countryside is highly valued by the Vietnamese for the simplicity of life and quietude of the scenery. Enjoy bamboo and banyan trees, communal houses, ferries and traditional villages that specialize in a craft, like the Bat Trang Pottery Village, Dong Ho Folk Painting Village, Dong Ky Carpentry Village and so on. Trips to these villages can be very enlightening and also a great chance to pick up some bargains.
Itinerary :
Pick you up at 8 AM at your hotel and depart for Bat Trang Pottery Village. On the way, you’ll have a chance to see some villages located along the two banks of the Red River Dykes. After two hours visiting Bat Trang, you’ll lunch at a traditional Vietnamese restaurant. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Dong Ho Folk Painting Village where you’ll be surprised by the skilful artisans who use to natural materials to make wonderfully vibrant folk paintings. After that you’ll visit the But Thap Pagoda, the cradle of Buddhism in Vietnam, which charms visitors with its unique architecture and rich history.
