TOM - MB 7: Coc Ly Market – Trung Do Home Stay – Bac Ha (3 days – 2nights)


Day 1 Tuesday(B.L.D):Drive 35 km (1 hour)from Lao Cai to Thuan Hai village. From there  you will start ride the 20km of rolling to CocLy hill tribe market wich is situated between stunning mountains by the Chay River. Every Tuesdays morning, the people from the surrounding ethnic villages such as Flower H’mong, Phu La and Dao Tuyen gather to sell and buy their products. Having explored the market, you will take a 1- hour boat ride up the stunning Chay River Valley for a picnic lunch at the Fairy Cave , then back down (1hr) to Trung Do,stopping a long the way to explore the village of Flower H’mong people.  Enjoy dinner and stay  overnight in local house of Tay family.

Day 2 (B,L,D): Take a morning walk around the village to meet the local people and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Ride 3km along a local trail to pick up the main road, then it's an 17km climb to Bac Ha. Your support car will be there to help you up the stunning mountain pass to Bac Ha. Check into your hotel. Lunch in local restaurant then ride 10km loop around Bac Ha and Ban Pho village on a dirt road winding through plum gardens and rice fields where you will visit local people.  Overnight in the hotel in Bac Ha.

Day 3 (B,L,D): After breakfast in the hotel you will visit the impressive house of the former Flower H’Mong King before embarking on a 10km ride to Lung Phin village, home of Flower H’Mong and Phu La people. Relax with a local family, and then glide the 10km back to Bac Ha town.  After lunch. You can choose to ride 17km down the mountain then drive to Lao Cai, or ride the full 70 km to Lao Cai.Have a freshing up shower in the guest-house in Lao Cai then dinner and catch the night train back to Ha Noi.

TOM - MB 6: Lao Cai – Can Cau – Bac Ha – Trung Do Home Stay (3 days – 2nights)


Saturday(BLD): Drive 90km (3 hours)from Lao Cai through  Bac Ha town to Can Cau hill tribe market. This colourful Flower H’Mong market is perched high on the mountain side with an amazing view of the local valley sculpted with rice terraces and plum trees. Glide 10km on main road back to Bac Ha town to check in to your hotel. Lunch in local restaurant.Start bike 10km loop around Bac Ha and Ban Pho village on a dirt road winding through corn fields ,plum gardens and rice fields where you will visit minority people.  Overnight in Bac Ha.

Sunday(BLD): You will visit this huge Bac Ha market with its colorful array of ethnic minority people such as the
Flower H’mong, Phu La and Dao Tuyen who gather to buy and sell their.Try the famous local corn whiskey. A short cycle through town visits the impressive house of the former H’Mong King. After lunch, check out and start riding out of town down the stunning mountain road along the Chay River valley past steep tiered rice terraces and plum orchards. Arrive in Bao Nhai and take a 1-hour boat ride up the stunning Chay River Valley to visit the Fairy Cave, then back down (1hr) to Trung Do village.  You’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight home stay with a friendly Tay family.

Monday (B,L,D): After breakfast with Tay people, spend an hour walking around the hamlet to meet the locals and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Across the Chay river by boat  then explore Flower H’mong village.You will embark on a full day of riding 50km rolling road back to Lao Cai. You will stop in Phong Hai town for a lunch of local Vietnamese food. You will stop near Lao Cai to visit the beautiful Thuong Temple with its impressive 300+ year old Banyan tree. Have a freshing up shower in the guest-house in Lao Cai then dinner and catch the night train back to Ha Noi.

TOM - MB 5: Sa Pa – Binh Lu – Than Uyen (3 days – 2nights)


Day 1 (L,D):After brekfast. Start ride uphill from Sa Pa to Heaven's Gate(15 kms), if you can not ride uphill your support car will transfer you to the starting point at the Silver Waterfall. A 3km climb  over the stunning Tram Ton Pass (the highest in Indochina at 2047 M above the sea level ) provides great views of the Hoang Lien national park before a free-wheeling 30km (2hrs) glide to Binh Lu town (If you arrive in Binh Lu on a Thursday or Sunday morning, you can choose to save some time by taking the car to the top of the Pass, before gliding down to visit the Binh Lu Market). Lunch in local restaurant then heading off the main road, ride 25kms on the rocky road to Than Thuoc, stopping a long the way to visit tea plantations. Overninght in the Guesthouse.

Day 2 (B,L,D): Your support car will transfer you up a steep mountain pass to the starting point to glide 25kms down to Than Uyen town through valleys of old growth forest and rice paddies. After lunch in Than Uyen, spend a wonderful afternoon exploring single track trails and visiting villages of minority people such as H’mong, Thai and Lu people with their black teeth. Arrive back in Than Uyen for dinner and overnight in the Guesthouse.

Day 3 (B,L,D): Start  ride 45km for enjoying the spectacular Muong Kim Valley provides plenty of time to stop and take pictures of the local people. Arrive in Van Ban town for  lunch before taking the support car back to Lao Cai. Have a freshing up shower in the guest-house in Lao Cai then dinner and catch the night train back to Ha Noi.

TOM - MB 2: Sa Pa - Muong Hoa valley(full day)


Free-wheeling 6km to Muong Hoa valley to visit the Black H’Mong people, then continue ride 3 km along a trail to Ta Van to meet the local Dzay people and enjoy the most beautiful valley in the North of Vietnam. Ride 16km of rocky road down the valley to Ban Ho. Stop at the home stay of your Tay people for lunch, then take a walk around the village to the Lave waterfall for a swim if weather permit. Then drive back up the valley to Sapa by car.

TOM – FM 3 : Explore Fansipan Mountain 3143 metres. (3 days & 2 nights)


Day 1: Sa Pa - Fansipan at 2200 metres.
We will pick you up at 9am from your hotel in Sa Pa and drive to Silver Waterfall before reaching the highest mountain pass in Viet Nam - TramTon Pass at 1950 metres above sea level.  Spend time enjoying the natural environment before starting the challenging trek to the peak. We walk through primitive rainforest and jungle.  After approximately 5 hours you will have trekked to a height of 2200 metres.  Here we will make tents, prepare dinner and spend the first night on the mountain.
Day 2: Discover the summit 3143 metres
After breakfast at the camp we continue our climb to the summit, passing towering Yellow Bamboo forests.  After approximately 4 hours you will be standing on the highest peak in Viet Nam, Mt. Fansipan, known as ‘the roof of Indochina’.  Spend 1 hour at the summit to enjoy magnificent and inspiring views, to the northwest are small village areas and splendid rolling mountains belonging to Lai Chau province, to the northeast you will have a birds eye view of  Sa Pa town which can only be seen from this vantage point.  Have lunch and then descend to the camp at 2200 metres to enjoy dinner.
Day 3: Fansipan - Shin Chai – Sa Pa
After breakfast on the mountain, we will take a different route to the foot of the mountain.  Here we will visit and understanding of the lifestyles and traditional customs of the Black H’mong people in  the Sin Chai Village. You will have lunch along the way before driving back to Sa Pa.

TOM – FM 2 : Conquer Fansipan Mountain 3143 meters (2 days & 1 night)


Day 1: Sa Pa – Fansipan at 2800 metres:  Departing Sa Pa at 8am our driver transports you to Tram Ton Pass to obtain permission to climb the Mountain. From Tram Ton Pass we will start our climb at 1950 metres above sea level. After four hours of trekking we will stop for lunch beside a small peaceful stream. In the afternoon we continue our climb to the altitude of  2800 metres where we prepare our diner and set up camp with tents provided.
Day 2: 2800 metres – Summit – Sa Pa:  Start at 7am.  On our trek to Mt. Fansipan you will enjoy spectacular scenery with magnificent and unique views.  Reaching the summit at 11am you will have a spectacular view over Lao Cai Province, Sa Pa town and towards China to the east or Laos to the west.  In the afternoon you will arrive at Sin Chai Village home to H’mong minority people.  Travel back to Sa Pa  by car.

TOM – HTMK 14: Incredible Hill Tribe Market Tour ( 3 days and 2 nights)

Itinerary:

Day 1-Sunday: (B,L) Meet your guide at Lao Cai station, drive up the mountain road to Sa Pa then continue over the Silver Waterfall & Heaven Gate, the highest mountain pass in Viet Nam at 2047M. From there we drive down to the town of Binh Lu (2:30hrs). Binh Lu is one of the most interesting markets to visit; you will find Red Hmong, Dzay, Lu and Thai minority people trading together. Continue along the way to Tam Duong market. This vibrant market attracts Hmong dressed in colorful skirts, Black Dzao and and White Thai. After lunch trek through tea plantations, terrace rice field and farmland to local villages of Day, Red Hmong, Black Dao and Lu minority people. Trek down to Ban Hon village and return to Tam Duong town for dinner. Overnight in  the Hotel.

Day 2-Monday: (B,L) After breakfast in Tam Duong, we drive to Muong So (30km/1hr). Explore off the beaten track to the hill tribe market in the remote countryside, where you will see White Thai, Black Thai & Hmong. Then we drive back up over the mountain to Sa Pa. Check in to your hotel and have lunch in a restaurant. Enjoy the Hoang Lien mountain range, home to Mt. Fansipan, the roof of Indochina at 3143M above the sea level. Take a car ride down the valley to visit the Black Hmong minority people of Lao Chai village. From there trek down to see the Day tribe of Ta Van village. At the end of the day  you will be picked up by car to be returned to Sa Pa. Overnight in the Hotel.

Day 3-Tuesday: (B,L,D) Depart from Sa Pa to Coc Ly (2:30hrs). Visit  the remote attraction of this mountain area: the market on the bank of Chay river. You will see Flower Hmong, the most colorful ethnic group. Their garments show elaborately embroidered spirals. After visiting this vibrant and fascinating market you will take a local boat  for a 2hrs trip down the Chay river, stopping along the way to explore the Fairy cave and enjoy a picnic lunch. Trekking to Trung Do village of Tay people.You will be picked up in Bao Nhai then return to Lao Cai. Have a refreshing shower and dinner in restaurant. Catching the night train back to Ha Noi.Trip ends Ha Noi station at 5am.
